The Grotte Chauvet in brief ...
The adorned cave of the Pont d'Arc, the so-called Grotte Chauvet, is the must see "monument" of the region and not only because of its inclusion in the Unesco world heritage.It is currently the oldest adorned cave listed in the world . its paintings and wall prints date back to more than 36,000 years. Lions, bears, mammoths, bison and other horses that cave men has drawn in there seem very alive and expressive.
